NOW

This is what I’m doing now:

A New Chapter: Shisso Ink

After a separation from my corporate project management career, I’m channeling 25 years of PM expertise into something I’ve wanted to build for a long time.

Shisso Ink is my ghostwriting business for craft educators—yarn shops, knitting instructors/ designers, embroidery teachers, and anyone else teaching people to make things with their hands. I write Educational Email Courses that help them convert subscribers into paying students.

Every client engagement gets the same rigor I brought to enterprise projects: structured discovery, clear deliverables, and a process that doesn’t leave things to chance. Visit Shisso Ink →

Reading

  • Finished
    • The Kirilli Matter – This was great at introducing me to a story and a world that I want to know more about, but then it dropped me in a cliffhanger. I have the next book, but I’m still irritated.
    • Writing Books that have many great tips to increase your writing speed:
      • The Truly Successful Writer
      • Be a Writing Machine

  • In Progress
    • Rewriting Your Life
    • Power vs Force
    • Shut Up and Write
    • Crimes Collide – Volume 1
    • On the Calculation of Volume – Part IV- I just got this book from the library. I have been speeding through each part. I can’t wait to see how a large group of people stuck in one day handle the repeition and each other.

Exercising

Four Days a Week

  • My workouts are the same set of exercises I’ve been doing
    • Weights, Bodyweight, Yoga, Spinning, Dancing, Cardio, Qi Gong, Pilates
    • I signed up for a Gym to include workouts with machines
    • I canceled HotWorx. I could never make it to the sauna – even in the dead of winter. I used my HSA card to buy a small sauna bag and I’m trying that out.
  • I signed up for Les Mills On Demand. They have great Yoga, Pilates, Core, Dance and Cardio workouts.

Learning

My focus this quarter:
I’m trying to improve my Japanese reading

  • With WaniKani help – I made it to LEVEL 13!!! Now only 48 more to go (😭)
  • Nihongo Life – they have a Patreon and a slew of YouTube Videos
  • Just found a set of videos from someone called Cure Dolly that I wish I had found earlier. Highly recommended
  • Makoto Plus has an app to help with reading
  • Reading Manga

Socials

Knitting/ Crochet

As usual, I have multiple projects going at the same time.

I started another Stolen Stitches Celtic Cable Club project – Fionbarra Cowl. It is gorgeous.

Continuing to work on another sweater – the Bere by Stolen Stitches. Lots of cables…lots of unraveling and reworking rows…

I killed a year-long stash buster blanket https://www.ravelry.com/projects/remikit/2026-year-challenge-scrap-yarn-blanket. I killed this project as the blanket is amazingly ugly and hard to maneuver as it grows.

I finished the Penguin Hat! – https://ravel.me/remikit/38fqrd

I’ve also started the Galway Blanket.
